Joy is Winning
Posted: November 6, 2026 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentI’ve had a productive week due mainly to the high of the election. With the change of clocks I have been getting up extra early and making good use of the early morning hours. This morning I was the first customer at Micheal’s when they turned on the lights and unlocked the doors.
I was inspired by a Christmas decoration I saw on Etsy that was much too expensive. I knew I could make it myself so I went to stock up on the supplies needed. One part of the decoration involves pink Christmas balls. I wanted a particular Pink and I wanted them to be glossy. So I decided to paint plain glass ornaments. I have 32 of them and the painting involves filling the inside with paint and pouring out the excess. So no actual painting.

I wanted to get all those done today, which I did before and between my classes I was teaching. Now the balls sit drying and tomorrow I will replace the caps and begin the cutting and painting of the next component of this decoration. It makes me so happy to work on Christmas decorations.
While I finished up this afternoon the news that Stephen Miller was taking over the chief of staff role came across my news. The news that Voldemort was going to be in charge did not dampen my happy. I got a feeling that the White House is going to be an even more unhappy place this Christmas.
Russ read the best line, “It’s like Miller is the new assistant manager at Saddam Husain’s Cheesesteak Factory.”
I am going into Christmas with all the joy in the world because I am ever hopeful. Love is winning. We may have to endure some more awfulness, but those small people do not have long before they will be totally insignificant.
