Church Dinner Day

For the second year in row we hosted a dinner for new and newish members of Westminster. Last year’s dinner was so successful they wanted to do it again. So Russ and I said yes.

Last week we got the numbers of reply’s. 17 people were coming. That is something I could do with my eyes closed. Then at the last minute the numbers changed. 36 people. OK, not a big deal, just the last minute part.

I made chicken curry and rice. It was a good easy thing for a group. Gray brought enough salad for 70. Kim and Chris brought plenty of wine and drinks. Kristen brought bunt cakes for the whole crowd.

Everyone showed up. That is not normal. Usually at least one person has to drop out. Two new members came who are both due with babies on Oct. 11. Everyone talked, ate, drank and then Gideon did all the dishes. Annie helped dry with Kristen.

It was a wonderful night of fun and fellowship and a great way for new Church members to get to know each other. We had young and old. It was lots of fun.

Shay was thrilled to have so many people visiting. She knew they all came to see her. When they ask us if we will do it again next year. They already know the answer. Westminster is the best.
