No Work Saturday

Hooray! Both Russ and I took the day off today and did nothing but fun stuff. We started the day with a big hike with Shay at Beech Hill Preserve in Rockport. It was a good up and down hill walk. I had my walking pole which makes walking downhill much easier.

Shay met many dogs along the trail and was cordial if not deferential to them. She likes to lead our little pack so if I ever got a head of her she would pull Russ to walk faster to pass me. It was a nice hike and one that wore Shay out hard, to the point of taking a nap with her eyes closed when she got home.

Russ wanted a Wasses hot dog for lunch. We stopped there and he went to get in the long line, until he realized they only take cash and he had told me not to bring my pocket book. The only cash is in my pocket book. So he will have to wait another day for a hot dog.

We just came come and ate leftovers. I finished the puzzle Jan had given Carter and Claire. It was a very fun puzzle. I might have to get another one in Belfast as I do love working puzzles up here. Carter and Claire will take this one home with them and I don’t want to do the same puzzle twice.

I got a to work on my paint by numbers. I can only do it for a short stretch at a time due to the tiny numbers and tiny shapes I am painting. We shall see what kind of art work this produces.

This afternoon we went back to Rockland to tour the Pride of Baltimore II. It is a replica ship of a Baltimore Clipper that was built in 1986. It sails all over the world as an ambassador of Maryland. It was a beautiful boat and lots of people came out to see it. Monday it leave Rockland and heads toward Greenport, NY.

I made Gazpacho for dinner with the vegetables from my neighbor’s stand. I could eat that everyday. Russ has asked me to make a tomato pie. I may also make a broccoli quiche. The neighbors vegetable stand might be our only market.
