Have We Met?

Yesterday my friend Sally sent me a Facebook posting asking me if I knew the writer. By all intents and purposes I should have, but I didn’t. As Sally is my age we got to talking about people who we should know, but can’t really remember them.

I admitted to Sally that I have friends who comment on this blog or the Facebook page related to this blog who I am not sure if I know them or not. With a blog, readers can stumble upon it so there is no telling if I know the reader or not. But sometimes I would like to know if a person going to the trouble of making a comment is someone I really do know.

So I am asking you, dear readers, who have commented, could the next time you leave a comment, or this time, just tell me if we have met and where, or some memorable story I might recognize. This will save me some future embarrassment.

Now if we never have met and you just read this blog I would love to know where you are from and maybe how you got here. This is just for my own interest.

I feel like I have a fairly good memory, but it certainly is not going to get any better. I know there are people I have met who made a big impact on me, but they have no reason to remember me at all. I am just trying to tie together threads that I am not even sure are untied.

So send me a message, tell me a story. I look forward to hearing from you.

I moved away from Durham in Dec 2006. We met at church and Carter and my youngest, Kyle, are the same age. They went to Westminster School for Young Children together. We also knew each other from going to weight watchers in Hope Valley Farms. I was with you when you did your first donation request for food bank as a challenge to help you with your weight loss. I got to lifetime with ww several times and most recently in October 2020. This time I decided getting to goal was my start. I’ve been at goal for 19 weeks and plan to keep staying here by continuing to track my food. I found your blog through Facebook and I read it every day. It helps me feel connected to my former life in NC and I can relate to so much of what you talk about. I always hear your voice in my head as I read it. I even created a button on my homepage that takes me directly to your blog and I check it before I go to sleep. Thank you for doing it.

Kim, so good to hear from you. Congratulations on your lifetime and staying there. That is a huge accomplishment. I’m back on WW. My life’s work. Glad you continue to read the blog. I hope you all can come back to Durham to visit someday. You all are missed at Westminster.

I’ve been reading your blog for about 5 years now. And no, we have never met – I live in Sydney, Australia.

I recall stumbling across your blog when you wrote about David Hartman. I had been watching reruns of The Virginian and always liked him and wondered where he’d gotten to, and Googled him.

I don’t really have time for social media and reading blogs and such. So when I first discovered you, I said to myself that I’d only continue to follow you until the day you said something that didn’t sit well with me. 😉 So far I’ve not disagreed with anything you’ve written.

I enjoy reading your daily adventures, and how your mind works. And even though we grew up half a world away from each other in different countries, we are very similar in so many ways. We are close in age, have a very similar outlook on life and how to treat others. However, you are a WAY better cook than I’ll ever be!.

I said to my sister a while back, that one day I would like to meet you in person if ever I get the chance to visit NC.

To this day, you’re the only blog I subscribe to. Keep on being More Good! 🙂

We have never met. I am friends with Jan McCallum through digital scrapbooking and love of photos. She mentioned your blog several years ago. I live in Maine and also enjoy needlework and quilting and cooking so lots of your blog posts have been inspiring. Thanks for writing and sharing!!!
