Russ Went to the Attic

Last day of sorting. Russ came up and went through his boxes. He had fewer boxes, but he wanted to keep a higher percentage of things. I was happy for him to make his own decisions on what is a treasure to him.

I went through the last stuff that had been moved decades ago. I found my first license plate. I found college art work. I found the lid to a pot I still use every week.

I found gift cards that I had made when Russ and I first got married. I can still use them now that Carter is grown and gifts are coming from just me and Russ again.

There are a couple of things that never should be packed and stored. One is candles. The other are jolly ranchers. They don’t do well in heat. I don’t know why seven jolly ranchers got moved, but I will never move them again.
