On November 12 I will be running a charity mah Jongg tournament to benefit Caring House. The tournament is being held at the Hope Valley Country club. It’s a friendly evening event so no high pressure. But that does not mean some people aren’t worried about participating.

I want to alleviate any fears you have. This tournament will have two rounds and you only need to complete three games in each hour-long round. Most tournaments you need to play four games in 55 minutes.

If you play faster than three games in an hour you can keep playing for fun, but just the score from the first three games in each hour go towards winning.

I am holding a class in Durham, October 25, 26 & November 1. Three 3 hour sessions that will help prepare players for the tournament or any playing you might be doing. It is a Beyond Beginners class to improve your passing, learn strategy and tips and tricks. This class will help any level of player before a tournament and give you peace of mind that more novice players need.
