Rainy Maine Day

Maine has been in a terrible drought this summer so I am happy when we get a wet day. It was supposed to rain a lot more than it has, but any rain is welcome. It is very cool, and I hear it’s very hot in North Carolina. This is why we come to Maine this time of year.

While Russ had a busy work day I went on a treasure hunt with my old friend Warren. He sells antiques and we have to go find them. I found a steam iron I had been looking for. Not an antique.

We stopped at Spear Spring Farm to get a few vegetables. Warren mentioned he was making stir fry for dinner. I thought that sounded like a good idea so that is what I made at our house.

Carter and Claire arrived this afternoon for the long weekend. They brought Norman who Shay was actually happy to see. The best thing happened. Norman had his special kibble for dinner and Shay, the dog who does not eat dog food, decided she want to have some. It was a revelation. Might not last another meal, but it was good for tonight.

I hope it is not rainy all weekend. If it is we will be forced to play a lot of games. What a shame.
