Thanks for the Pick Up

I was between flights home today and Russ reminded me that it is the one year anniversary of the death of his beloved Smart Car. We decided we just don’t like July 30. That was a hot sad day.

Just like today I was out of town teaching and Russ and Shay were on their own in Russ’ favorite tiny car. It still looked brand new thanks to low miles and constant garage living. But a big transmission fail meant the death of the roller skate.

Thanks to Lynn to came and rescued Russ and Shay as the tow truck took away the tiny car. We still miss and love that car. We will always be sad on this day.

But things that end often bring new opportunities. Russ loves his Rav-4 and now he drives even less than he did before. The good thing now is Shay has a permanent dog bed securely harnessed in the RAV so she rides in better safety.

And now Russ and Shay can both come pick me up at the airport in his car since there is room for all three of us and my luggage. So tonight I had them both giving me a kiss when I got in the car at the airport. Thanks for picking me up. Great to be home.
