Watermelon-Lime-Ginger Sorbet

We had a not great watermelon. It did not have a lot of taste so I decided it would go to the Cremi machine. But a not very flavorful melon would need a lot of help to make it a good sorbet.

Lots of ginger and lime juice was an easy fix. I use the frozen ginger cubes you buy at Trader Joe’s. I thawed six cubes and added 2 tablespoons of spoons of lime juice with a pint of watermelon cubes.

That was all I put in it. I froze it for 24 hours and ran it in the sorbet setting. It was fantastic. It was spicy with ginger and tangy with lime. The watermelon provided a little sweetness and bulk.

I took the flavorless watermelon and made it something yummy and healthy. Wonder how cantalope will do?
