Reconnecting

I have been incredibly lucky over the years to get to work with some really nice people from the Food Bank of central and Eastern North Carolina. One of my favorites is Kristin Mc Peters. She and I worked on the campaign for the Wilmington Branch we built a few years ago. As a development professional she is the best and I really came to be good friends with her during that time.

After the campaign successfully finished Kristin moved on to bigger things in Wilmington and I did not see her much. She happened to be at the Figure Eight Yacht Club a few weeks ago and saw that I was going to be there this week. So she contacted me and we got together tonight for dinner.

She generously found a place for us to go near where I am staying. It turned out to be a restaurant on the grounds of a retirement community. It was lovely even if the location was odd.

Kristin now works for the Novant Hospital Foundation and it was interesting to learn what her job is like now. She is as delightful as she was when we worked together on Food Bank work. I am so happy she reached on when she knew I would be in her neck of the woods, or should I say, her stretch of the beach.
