Three Surprise Gifts

People are so nice. Today I had three surprise gifts. Two came from students in a class. Independently they each gave me a very lovely card in which they wrote me kind words that meant everything to me. The words would have been enough, but they each included a generous gift card to me. What a nice surprise.

Then when I got home there was a package from a store that I did not expect. It was a birthday gift from my friend Suzanne. I had admired this beautiful blouse she wore at Carter and Claire’s shower. So she sent me a blouse from the same maker.

I tried it on and was unsure if it was a blouse or a jacket because it was so big. I sent Suzanne the photo of it and she said it was TOO BIG. So I am going to send it back to get the right one. But it was so lovely of her to even remember my birthday and send a gift.

I’m just not used to getting gifts that are too big. I am also not used to getting so many gift from students. Honestly the students are the gift. I really enjoy teaching people more than one class because I love getting to know them and seeing their progress.

People are my favorite gift.
