Sleep Schedules

Shay has not been sleeping well. For a dog. She sleeps plenty during the day, but is she really sleeping? She is curled up quietly, but I am never sure if she is actually asleep.

For the last few months at night she wakes Russ up multiple times a night. She does not wake me, or if she is trying I don’t wake up. But Russ is a terrible sleeper, so one little movement from Shay and he is up, so she is up. And she wants to go out multiple times a night. Many more times than she wants to go out during the day.

I am not sure what this is all about. I do know that when she is sleeping, she sleeps harder. Sometimes when Russ and I go out and come come home she does not wake up and greet us. I come in the room where she is and she stays asleep. Maybe for like 20 minutes.

When she does wake up she acts like she has been up waiting for you. She is almost 15 which is very senior for a dog. I think I too might be having senior sleep issues.

This morning I woke up at 4:20 and could not go back to sleep. I did wordle and got it in 3 so that energized me, so I was up. Now at 7:00PM I am exhausted and ready for bed. I just don’t want to go to bed now because then I will be up at three in the morning.

If only I had saved wordle until night. I really could use the jolt then.n
