Not Even a Good Fake
Posted: March 3, 2026 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentI had a student come into class today all excited because she had gotten the new 2026 card already. Before she could even take it out I knew it had to be a counterfeit. She quickly realized it was the exact same hands as the 2025 card, but any 2025 hands were just changed to 2026.

She showed me the inside of the card and I broke the news to her that all those cards on Amazon that are claiming to be 2026 are counterfeit. She quickly went online and got a find for the $22.50 she had paid for a the four pack of cards.
Then she handed me the card. I looked at the front. Not only was it blue, the same color as this year’s card, but it had Mah Jongg misspelled. Not the biggest offense.

The biggest mistake is the word “GARDS”. What the hell is GARDS? Is that what the counterfeiter thought they heard when someone said, “Let’s make some fake Cards .”
My student had not noticed the front of the card in her excitement to look at the new hands. Perfectly normal for newish students to get fooled. I can spot a counterfeit across the room.
DON’T BUY MAH JONGG CARDS OFF AMAZON, unless the seller in the National Mah Jongg League. Best to buy them directly off the website http://www.nationalMahjonggleague.org. Do order your cards now so you get one at end of the month. We all can’t wait for the new card! I am sick of this one.
