Belated Birthday by Five Months

When Russ asked me what I wanted for my Birthday in May I said, “A weekend to visit Carter and Claire.” This is that weekend.”

He got us seats on each side of the aisle since we both like aisle seats. There was a woman waiting at the gate who looked a little familiar and when she got on the plane we looked at each other and said, “I know you.”

“I’m your mah Jongg teacher.” So Irene and I spent the whole flight talking and it was great. At one point we switched seats because both our necks were hurting from turning one way.

We arrived and are staying in the seaport so we dropped our bags at our hotel and walked up to Ocean Prime for lunch. It may be a chain, but it is always good. The best part about it is that when Russ was asking questions the waiter was answering “yes,” before he even got the question out. We love a place where the answer is always “Yes.”

We did a little clothes shopping for me before we walked back to the hotel to freshen up before going to Carter and Claire’s for drinks before dinner. They have done such a cute job on their house. I gave them an early Christmas present of custom made Roman shades and I was so pleased with how they turned out. I really like that they are remote controlled!

Norman, their dog was very happy to see Russ, despite the way Russ was holding. I think Norman just wanted some cheese.

We went to dinner at a bar in the nicest part of their neighborhood. They were having a little Octoberfest so just as the waitress was walking away after taking our order Russ through out to her that he want the pretzel. Nothing makes him happier.

Nothing makes me happier than being with my best girls. We have a big day tomorrow. This is the best birthday present I can ever think of.
