The Teacher Becomes the Pupil

The best part about being a Mah Jongg teacher is the friends that you make while teaching. Kristi Blizzard is one of the tops. She is hosting me at the beach this week for which I am eternally grateful. It is not just because she has a beautiful house that happens to be very close to the club I am teaching at. Or that she made us a delicious dinner tonight. Or that she just finished reading The Covenant of Water when I got here so we got to have a big discussion about it.
The big bonus is that Kristi has been Gluten free for over ten years so she gave me a huge tutorial on what are the good Gluten free products and what are not. She bought me some gluten free cheese straws and cookies for take home gifts. And she gave me test tasting of many different things so I could figure out if I liked them or not.

I may be her Mah Jongg teacher, but she is my gluten free guru. I am so thankful to have her as the best resource so I don’t have to waste my time or my money buying things that I just end up throwing away because I find them inedible. I had no idea that many of these products existed or that Food Lion and Aldi had such good gluten free selections. That’s what I get for not ever shopping at either of them.
Thanks Kristi for all you do for me, especially giving me this excellent education.
Yes! I have called Kristi and number of times with questions about GF. I’m sure she gets asked a zillion questions by many folks, but she never seems to mind sharing what she knows. I agree, she is a good resource AND you (I might add) are the best MJ teachers. I’m blessed to be a student of both of you. Beth E
That was beautifully said, Dana! She is a blessing to many of us🥰
