Vote Because You Can
Posted: November 4, 2025 Filed under: Uncategorized 1 CommentIt’s Election Day. From the looks of it you would think that they allow little brown dogs to vote, and do it twice here in Durham. I promise that is not the case. She just snuggled with us and took off our voting stickers.

I went to vote after brunch with dear sweet Shelayne. It was almost 1:00 and I had to wait in line to get my ballot. There was a steady stream of voters coming in. Very impressive for an off year election when the only decisions to be made were for Mayor and three city council members.
Russ went at 6:00 and he too encountered a line. The poll workers told him it had been a very busy day and they were impressed with the turnout out given the low number of races.
I think people just want to show they are involved with democracy. We need to show the anti-democracy crowd that we won’t be intimidated or discouraged.
Tomorrow morning will be interesting to see what happens in Virginia, New Jersey, New York and California. I predict I will be happy.
I read a little new clip about people in Kentucky calling their voting officials complaining that their polls weren’t open, only to be told Kentucky did not have any elections this year. Those people have to be party only voters if they didn’t know that there were no people running.
It may be a low importance year right now, but that means that we are only one year away from mid-terms. Time to change up the shit show.
yes!
