The Happiest Day for Carter and Claire

It happened! Claire asked Carter to marry her tonight! Carter of course said YES!

Russ and I knew it was coming. Claire talked to us in April. We adore Claire and she and Carter are so happy together. Carter had also talked to us about it. Carter thought Claire should be asked first, but Claire surprised Carter and asked her first.

Tomorrow is Carter’s birthday and Claire planned a weekend trip to Kennebunk, Maine. She told us she was going to ask Carter today because she wanted to spend the whole weekend celebrating. We have been keeping this secret for a while.

Claire even enlisted Carter’s work friends to get her to get a manicure before the company Christmas Party so they were done for the proposal.

Knowing it was about to happen Russ and I hung out at home waiting for the FaceTime call. It was the sweetest call I have ever been part of. They are so cute. We are over the moon.

Now they are celebrating with some random lobsters.
