I Want a Christmas Market

It’s cold. I love it. It is giving me that Christmas feeling. We had a crazy warm fall. It was really more like third summer. But now it is actually cold, like put on my Lanz nightgown cold.

So with this real cold weather what I would really like is a an outdoor nighttime Christmas market like we visited in Germany and Prague. Instagram has been reading my mind and showing me Alsace Christmas Markets in the region of France snuggled up next to Germany.

Looking at the photos made me even look at flights from RDU to Frankfort which is a quick trip to Strasbourg. Sadly this does not fit in my schedule this year. But I can dream.

So now I am interested in finding a local Christmas market. I don’t want anything like the state fair in red and green, but a real European market with crepes wrapped in paper that you can eat walking around while looking hand hand carved wooden ornaments.

I know this does not exist close by. This is my own Hallmark movie. No romance needed, maybe some cute dogs dressed in sweaters and a steamy mug of mulled cider in a take home pottery mug.

I obviously have too much time on my hands to be dreaming this up. But it is better to think about than the real world. Maybe I am going to have to live the next four years in my own made up Hallmark movie.
