A Little Brown Dog Returns to Maine

I woke up in New Hampshire at my friend Esme’s house. I had a lot of fun staying with her, even if she is always carrying around a sneaker. She also has this nice pig, but she left it out on her deck in a sad protest that I was leaving. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

I got to spend the last morning with Esme’s people, Suzanne, Steve, Grace and Oliver. Then Suzanne took us to Kittery, Maine. It was my first port of entry back into the state I think of as my second home. We went to Lil’s for lunch. All the humans were happy with their yummy sandwiches, but somehow mine never arrived. It was OK. I was happy to be with my Mommy and Daddy.

I said goodbye to Suzanne and we got in the car and drove the last three hours to Owl’s head. I jumped out of the car and went to look at the water and smell the pine trees. I am at my summer happy place.

The sky is hazy. I hear it is from Canadian wild fire. Sad for Canada, but I hope our blue sky comes back. Mommy cooked my dinner while Daddy went to claws to get Mommy a lobster roll. That’s number one of the trip. I am just happy to be back in Maine. This little brown dog loves it here.

if little brown dog’s mom would like to meet for lunch, I know former teacher and NC resident who would love to see her this next week.
