Getting Ready

In the category of life goes on, I played Mah Jongg and I taught Mah Jongg today. I should have cleaned the bath room floor, but I felt like the fact that I folded the laundry was good enough.

I packed my suitcase and made a list for the morning to look for waterproof mascara in my makeup and to bring an appropriate purse.

I can’t handle much else. I am so looking forward to being with my group, but sick about the reason we will be together. Another trip to say good bye. What are you going to remember?

Everything.

I am very sorry of the loss of a such a good friend, way too early. Be kind to yourself during this trip.

Our mutual friend Jill Gammon shared your blog with me, and I have spent a few hours this morning reading about Hugh and your group’s love and your awful loss. I am so sorry for what this loss means to his family, his good friends, to you personally and to the world. The timing is ironic, but I think Jill foresaw I would be drawn to this right now. Tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of the sudden death of one of my dearest friends. Betty was an anchor, a connector, a bright spirit, and ever-present in my life. I didn’t ever think about her not being here. It’s hard. I’ll be thinking of you this weekend as you hug and cry and laugh and remember. Peace, Marsha Van Hecke
