Two Belated Birthday Celebrations

It was a busy day for celebrating belated birthdays. The first was at lunch for my friend Shelayne. Lynn and I met her at Nantucket so Shelayne could have her favorite salad. We all knew what she was going to order before she sat down.

It was wonderful to catch up with her for this delayed birthday. See, earlier in the month she was on baby watch at her 12th, YES, TWELFTH grand child was born. That one eight year old and 11 under six.

Besides talking grandchildren we got to hear all about Lynn’s African adventure. I was quite pleased she actually came home. Knowing her love of animals I was worried she might just decide to stay in Africa. I think if she had known that their canceled flights meant that their journey home was going to take 46 hours she might have stayed. It took her almost a week at home to recover.

Tonight was the delayed birthday dinner for my mother. Russ and I picked her up. The cutest sight ever was watching Russ bend down and zip up my mother’s coat in the lobby at Croasdaile. After a yummy Vin Rouge dinner, she did say that he was her favorite. She didn’t even try and cover it up.

I can’t blame her. He is my favorite too. We had such a nice dinner out. People appeared to be glad to be out and about. This might be the small window they can go out, considering the weather forecast.

Glad we got those birthday’s in today.
