More Parties Than Work

The joy of coming to Lyford is that I get to spend time with friends, who are way more than students. I did have a class first thing this morning of the Under 40’s wives. It was a little loosey goosey getting set up this morning, but once I got the gang focused we had a grand old time.

I cleaned up from class and went back to my room to freshen up before I rode a bike to Ruth E.’s for a mah Jongg party. Ricki of Nebraska was in for the weekend with three friends who I did not know, but they wanted to play some mah Jongg with me. Dixie and Helen came along and made it a perfect 8 some.

I was happy to get some time with Ricki as she is not going to be in class with week and may not be here in February. Not sure how I can teach without Nebraska in the house.

I had a little break between that party and the next one. Helen threw a lovely dinner party with a lovely group of friends. I learned more about the islands and boats. Knowledge that is wasted on me, but very interesting. I also learned that dogs can go in saunas, but I don’t think that is a great idea.

It is just so nice how many parties I get invited to here. You would never know this is a job.
