Always a Party
Posted: October 16, 2025 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentWe had two great classes today at the Bayou club in Houston. The beginners played full games and I am happy to report are fully capable of playing now. We had a fabulous lunch between classes where the beginners stayed and ate with the beyond beginners.

Then the beyond beginners came to class. It was a feisty group who were totally engaged. We had some tough hands, with lots of good lessons. Sadly it was their last class as I am only teaching beginner in the morning tomorrow.

After class I found out that tonight’s plans included going to a fabulous Party in the Park for the Menil Museum. Kari invited us as her guests. The evening was perfect to sit under the big live oak tree and stars and enjoy spicy gazpacho with shrimp.

I was lucky to see some young Houstonians, sisters, Maggie and Francis who I taught in the Bahamas. They couldn’t come to class this week due to those little things called jobs. But I was glad to get a chance to catch up.

Nancy and Butch Abendshein have been the most perfect hosts. I am so appreciative for their kindness. I just wish I could repay all these generous people for all they have done for me. It is always fun to come to Houston.
