Evil Underneath

We have a neighbor who decorates for many holidays in extravagant ways. At Halloween he put out this giant tall skinny scary guy from some move, maybe Nightmare on Elm street. Then the day after Thanksgiving all his Christmas lights were up.

Carter asked me as we drove by his house about the Halloween guy who was still up along with the Christmas. I said, “Maybe he will turn into the grinch.”

I was wrong. He turned into Santa, but not a friendly kind of Santa. Just a scary creepy guy disguised as Santa, but with an evil heart.

I feel like that is a metaphor for America. We have a bunch of creepy guys who are out right horrible in the open. Then we have another group of creepy guys who are wolves in sheep clothing. Pretending to be good, but are actually evil through and through.

Don’t be fooled by the outward appearance. Look into the souls of people and find the truly good ones and stick with them. I believe that good has to win out over evil. I just hope I live long enough to see the good shine through and bring the bad guys into the light, like the grinch, whose heart grew three sizes in one day. Please bring me a Christmas miracle.
