Christmas is Slipping In
Posted: November 25, 2024 Filed under: Uncategorized Leave a commentIt was another very early morning, but for a great reason. Carter flew in from Boston arriving at 8:00 this morning. I was so excited I woke up at 5:30. That and Shay needed to go out she was so excited.
Carter’s flight left Boston twenty minutes early, thus landing equally early. I was a few minutes late since she was so early. She had a full work day, but we did get to eat lunch together and after work she helped me put up the new tree I had been painting all the Christmas balls for.

Sadly I dropped one on the tile floor and in broke. Thankfully it was my least favorite one. After we put the balls on Carter hung the ribbons on this tree as I made them. She was very nervous about placement since she has a lifetime trauma of my Christmas decorating instructions.
We both are in a better place than when she was four. I let her decide on her own where the ribbons would go, only giving advice when she asked for it.
She has definitely got my Christmas genes as she and Claire already put their tree up and have done all their Christmas decorating. Carter said she was quite shocked that it only took a little more than an hour. She has been sensitized to the Christmas throwing up at our house taking three days.
I did decide yesterday that I just can’t wait until after Thanksgiving to start, so tomorrow I will put the needlepoint garland up. It takes a good amount of time and no one tires of looking at it. I just haven’t told Russ. If he says anything I will say Carter said it was OK.
