The Holiday Season Officially Started

Last night I finished my last class of the year. It was a beyond Beginner class of lovely women in Cary at Home for entertaining. I adore teaching there because the family who owns the business could not be nicer. As it is not a private club anyone can come and take lessons there. This is great for the single people who call me asking to get into a class. I will be back at home for entertaining in the new year.

I purposely scheduled myself time off between Thanksgiving and new years. If I don’t block time out on my calendar I would end up teaching everyday. As much as I love it, I also have other interests too.

So my holiday officially started today with a Friendsgiving lunch at my Neighbor Mary Eileen’s. It was a wonderful gathering of friends for a quick lunch. Mary Eileen had invited us to come dine outside, but she decided at the last minute it was too cold, so we ate in her beautiful dining room. I think she had us over just so she could use her pumpkin soup bowls. I am not mad about it.

After lunch it was back to my painting sweatshop trying to finish up my Christmas decoration creations. I am very happy how my Christmas balls turned out, so I am making more for gifts. I also have almost finished my Nutcrackers. If I had know how well they would have turned out I would have bought more blank wooden Nutcrackers. Of course they are sold out now. It’s Ok. I really don’t have time to make more than the 12 I have already painted.

My deadline for this project is Sunday and I have a dozen more things to do this weekend. See the Holiday has officially started!
