The Search for A Recipe

I hate when I remember eating something at someone’s house that I loved, but not remembering where I put the recipe when they gave it to me. The last time I ate it was probably close to 15 years ago. I can’t ask the person for the recipe again because it includes meat, which they gave up long ago. So the chance of them even having the recipe is small.

I never used to write recipes down, because I create as I cook, but then people would ask me for a Recipe it was much harder to remember what I put in it a few days after the fact.

For some reason I am craving this tomato, beef and rice soup which was kind of sweet and sour. I am sure I can just experiment and figuring it out, but the original was so perfect I would rather find the recipe.

It’s funny how food goes in and out of style. Not Mac and cheese, but when was the last time you had chicken à la king? I don’t think I ever need to eat chicken à la king ever again. Maybe that’s why it went out of style.

The internet is only so good for old recipes. Since the internet is only 20 + years old it does not have a lot of old recipes unless people have made them recently. I guess I am going to have to do the old fashioned thing and look at my old cook books and see what I can come up with.

So much research, so little time.
