A Little Brown Dog Takes Us on a Big Walk

My Daddy wanted me to go on a walk with him today, but then I heard Mommy and her friend Karen say they were going to go to walk on the breakwater. I looked up at Daddy and said, “I’m with the ladies.” So off we went.

The breakwater is my favorite place to walk. It is a two mile walk on a bunch of big rocks out in the middle of the Rockland harbor to the lighthouse. I may be old, but when it comes to the breakwater, I am like a young puppy.

I am not afraid of the spaces between the rocks where the water is moving. I may not have the best eye sight, but somehow on the rocks I see perfectly.

Yes, there were other dogs on the breakwater today. There were big dogs, yappy dogs and even a husky whose four people had to surround him so he wouldn’t come near me. What did I care? Other dogs are not my issue and I just kept walking on by.

It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was sparkling. Thanks to mommy and Karen for the ride to the breakwater. Let’s do it again soon.
