We’ve Been Apart Too Long

I’ve already lost track of what day it is, but I think today was our second full day. That means that I left Suzanne Friday after lunch. Yesterday I got a text from her that she and Oliver were free to come visit us today. Woo Hoo!

We did not get a chance to play Catan when we were with them in NH so they needed to come to Maine to get our Catan and Claws fix. Oliver had an early shift at work today, but as soon as he got off work Suzanne picked him up and high tailed it up to Owls Head. Suzanne being the good mother, made Oliver this awesome Chicken sandwich on Lil’s Olive bread since he had been at work since 5 AM. The only problem is she lost the sandwich somewhere between making it and picking him up.

By the time they got to our favorite lobster shack, Claws to meet us for dinner Oliver was starving. So he had the around the world dinner of chowder, blueberry corn bread, fried haddock sandwich, lobster roll and blueberry crisp à la mode. Oh to be a young man.

We had a great time at dinner, but had to get home to play our first round of Catan. Suzanne had not played in a while so we were reteaching her the game. Oliver and I were excellent teachers because Suzanne won the game. I think Oliver’s dinner was his handicap. No excuse for me.

It’s just great to have them here as I was already going through withdrawal from leaving them two days ago. Steve couldn’t make it, but wants to come up so I expect another visit while we are here. We just can’t be apart too long.
