Lazy Day

It’s that wonderful week between Christmas and New Years when nothing really happens. That is if you don’t count all the people who got Mah Jongg sets for Christmas and now are desperate for classes. (The bad news is that January and Feb are already full. Think March for Mah Jongg.)

Back to the Lazy day. Two of Carter’s dearest friends, Ashley and Estelle both came over and we spent the better part of the day catching up. Estelle brought her new dog Josey who was quite comfortable here. Shay was not much interested in her, which is an embarrassment as a hostess.

I should have done something like vacuuming after they left, but opted to finish the puzzle Hannah brought us for Christmas. Carter kept me company while I did it. 1000 pieces in three sittings was a very fast puzzle. It helped that it was one divided into little sections. But completing it was very exciting. The table I worked it on was just slightly too small and Carter and I laughed about carpenters 200 years ago not fortune telling how big puzzles in the future would be.

We are having Thai take out and snuggling down tonight. The perfect rainy holiday weekday. It was so much more fun than cleaning up the wrapping and boxes in my office. I am dreading taking Christmas down, but I see it in my near future. Life will have to start back again soon.
