Christmas Eve in Six Lines

It was a full day of cooking, puzzles, candles and brass. We could have given lessons on Christmas with class.

The beef needing trimming, potatoes were baked, chicken Marsalaed, and cookies to take.

Christmas puzzles were worked with great speed and precision, which one was best now that’s the decision.

The Toms were coming for dinner tonight, but Lynn called at five, and illness to fight. But we got Ellis and Logan for sure, we had cannelloni that was our lure.

Off to church for the lessons, carols and brass, that’s the thing that keeps Christmas from being too crass.

So with Santa to come I must bid you goodnight, looking forward to Christ’s coming with new morning light.
