It’s Christmas in Durham

It never works out this way, but for the first time in years I was available to go to a work event with Russ. As a tenant at the American Tobacco Campus Russ was invited to a party before the lighting of the tower at ATC. It was a fun dinner and a good chance to see the lighting of the tower in person.

There were kids singing and Santa and Mrs. Claus making the rounds with Wool E. Bull. The chamber music quartet played while we enjoyed Angus barn fare. Since it was an actually cold evening it felt very holiday like. Children ran round with flashing light glow sticks and so did I. Not the running, but waving the lit stick.

As we drove home from downtown I got to enjoy all the houses with light displays. I can remember when there were no lights outside downtown homes, but now the lights line the streets. It’s festive and fun. Christmas has come to Durham and I am all for it.
