Unpredictable

Today was a kind of how-much-can-I-pack-in-a-day kinda days. It started with finishing my lobster for breakfast. For the record I ate lobster for four meals in a row, dinner Tuesday, Brunch and dinner Wednesday and breakfast this morning. I think that is a record for me.

After my lobster breakfast Warren arrived for our trip to Boothbay to meet up with our friend Julie. It was the most perfect sunny day. We started with a trip to the fabulous Maine Botanical Gardens. This is my third visit there and I can not believe how much it has grown. We went in the butterfly house and I had one butterfly loving on my dress who stayed on my arm a while.

We meandered amongst all the gardens. Each one more beautiful than the next. The amount of work made me exhausted just looking at them. After viewing the planted gardens we walked the woodland trails and looked at the giant trolls. Such a fun visit.

The cafe was closed for renovations so we went off to Boothbay harbor for lunch at Kelly’s cafe. Thanks to Warren for treating, but gluten free wraps are just as bad as gluten free bread.

Sadly we bid goodbye to Julie and Warren and I made the drive back to Owl’s Head. Russ’ great friend Gary and his partner Julie were back for a quick visit and dinner. We went into Rockland to try an untraditional Maine place, an African restaurant with a chef from Togo. It was a very laid back place. We let the owner/chef/server Jason pick out everything we were going to eat. We have no idea exactly what we had, but over the course of the three hours we were there we ate yummy things.

It was a day filled with the greatest variety. All of it fun and unpredictable.
