Burning the Candle on Both Ends

I’m having way too much fun to be working this much. This morning we all got up early to enjoy breakfast on the water, before going out on Annette’s boat for her boating lessons with her instructor Jose. It’s just hard to beat an early morning ride along Carrot Island. We didn’t see any wild horses, but the day was devoid of the normal summer humidity and it made the ride magnificent.

After we got a tour of Annette’s new house, which is across the street from her guest house we are staying in. I am in heaven in her house. We had lunch and I had to leave Shannon and Annette for my first class at Morehead City Country Club.

I drove in and thought I had come in the wrong entrance because although I could see a giant new beautiful club house in the distance I was unsure if I was on a road that got me there. Eventually driving past the cart barn and the giant pile of sand trap sand I found a tiny lane that got me where I was needing to go.
I had a huge class of new players who were a delight and caught on quite quickly. I had one short hour between classes to get from the Country club back to Beaufort, eat dinner and start the second class for the Beaufort gang.

It is Elizabeth Townsend’s birthday so there was a little celebration for her and she proceeded to win all three games at her table. It was not like her opponents were giving her a present and letting her win, she did a great job learning.
Thankfully most other tables had multiple winners and I was especially happy that Page also won since she has been dying to learn.
Everyone left sometime after nine PM and Annette and Shannon and I told each other stories until I realized I had just a few minutes left in the day to write this blog. I am exhausted and have to do it all again tomorrow so it’s off to bed.
